Wallpaper hanging
Wallcoverings set out with attention to pattern, junctions and the condition of the wall.
Preparation comes first
Wallpaper makes uneven surfaces and poor setting out difficult to hide. Check the wall condition, old adhesive and any staining first. The position of doors, windows and focal points helps determine where a pattern should begin and where joins will fall.
Agreeing the finish
Confirm the exact paper, batch numbers, pattern repeat and hanging instructions before ordering. Lining, adhesive, trimming and the treatment of sockets and edges should be included in the scope. Delicate or specialist papers need an agreed sample approach.
For listed buildings and conservation areas, check the proposed work before starting. See Historic England’s advice on redecoration.
