Preparation comes first
Confirm that surfaces are ready for the proposed coating and identify work still to be completed by other trades. Record damage, unfinished junctions and items outside the decorating scope before starting.
Agreeing the finish
Agree the paint system for new plaster and joinery with reference to product instructions. Establish the order of rooms and a final inspection stage after other work is complete, so later damage can be distinguished from decorating defects.
