Interior painting
Walls, ceilings and woodwork, with the preparation and finish agreed room by room.
Preparation comes first
A useful room schedule separates walls, ceilings, skirtings, doors and window surrounds. Existing coatings, cracks and staining need attention before a new colour is chosen. Floors, furniture and fittings also need a protection plan, particularly where rooms remain in use.
Agreeing the finish
Test colour in the room and consider both daylight and evening lighting. Agree the paint system, sheen and extent of repairs in the quotation. The number of rooms alone does not describe the work: ceiling height, access and surface condition matter too.
For listed buildings and conservation areas, check the proposed work before starting. See Historic England’s advice on redecoration.
